Retail Security & Loss Prevention

Dedicated loss-prevention officers on the shop floor and at the entrance — deterring theft, supporting your staff, and giving you the data behind your shrinkage.

Retail security is a specialism of its own. A guard who is excellent on a construction gate can be poor in a store, because retail demands constant, low-key customer interaction alongside vigilance. Our retail officers are selected and briefed specifically for the shop floor.

Retail security

Presence that deters, service that reassures

The most effective retail officer is visible at the entrance, approachable to genuine customers and unmistakably alert to everyone else. Most theft is opportunistic, and opportunists choose the easier store.

Supporting your staff

Your team should never feel they have to confront someone alone. Our officers take that burden, follow your escalation policy, and produce the written record you need afterwards for insurers, head office or the police.

Understanding your shrinkage

Reporting is where retail security earns its keep. We log incidents, times, methods and lines targeted, so patterns become visible and you can adjust layout, staffing or stock placement in response.

Common questions

Retail Security FAQs

Will officers be uniformed or plain clothes?

Either. Uniformed presence maximises deterrence; plain clothes is more effective against persistent, organised offenders. Many stores use both.

Can officers detain shoplifters?

Our officers act strictly within the law and your company policy on detention, following agreed escalation and involving police where appropriate.

Do you provide dog units for retail?

No. Retail is covered by our manned guarding division. Canine teams are deployed to stockrooms, yards and out-of-hours areas where appropriate, never as a customer-facing retail presence.
